There are over 110 ANU clubs and societies; with sports, cultural activity, and social communities ready and waiting for you.
This includes associations specific to engineering, computing, and cybernetics students. Here are a few that might be of interest, or browse the full list of clubs.
ANUSA
The ANU Students’ Association, or ‘ANUSA’, is the peak representative body for all students at ANU. If you’re an ANU student then you’re automatically a member of ANUSA.
Computer Science Student Association
The ANU Computer Science Students Association is a society for students studying (or interested in) computer science, software engineering, and related fields. We operate a common room on campus (in N102 on level 1 of the CSIT Building #108, come say hi); organise regular academic and social events, and events with industry sponsors; and a variety of other activities for the benefit of our members and the broader ANU community.
Engineering Student Association
The ANU Engineering Students Association (ANUESA) is a non-profit student organisation run by the students, for the students. We’re here to ensure that you have the best university experience possible! Throughout the year we host a myriad of events for our members. Each year we hold a Careers Fair, Industry Panel Events, fortnightly industry BBQs, Trivia Nights, study sessions, industry information nights, a Ball, sports matches and not to mention our famous Bar Nights! Membership is open to all students.
Engineers Without Borders
A world where technology benefits all
Engineers Without Borders (EWB)’s vision is to harness the potential of engineering to create an equitable reality for the planet and its people. Through partnership and collaboration, EWB focus on developing skills, knowledge and appropriate engineering solutions. Anyone can contribute – you don’t need to be an engineer – and there are plenty of ways to be involved.

ANU Entrepreneurship Club
The ANU Entrepreneurship Club is the University’s home for student-led innovation and start-ups. We support students in validating their ideas, connecting with investors and start-ups, and developing real-world technology solutions. Through hands-on guidance, networking events and startup-focused programs, we aim to make entrepreneurship more accessible to all. We also host the University’s largest hackathon, bringing together students from across disciplines to collaborate and solve meaningful problems.
Fenner School Society
The Fenner School Society (FSS) is run by students of the Fenner School of Environment and Society for all ANU students. Their primary aim is to encourage a sense of community within the school and wider ANU campus. FSS social events are fun and a great way to meet new people, and the field trips provide this also, along with an opportunity to gain practical experience and further our education.
Fifty50
{:.callout} Our College is a proud partner of ANU Fifty50. Founded in 2015 by Francesca Maclean and Emily Campbell at The Australian National University (ANU), Fifty50 is a student-led organisation which promotes gender equity in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) within the ANU.
Fifty50 strives to close the gender gap in STEM, to ultimately achieve gender equity through a strengths-based approach that includes mentoring programs, increasing the visibility of role models, engaging the wider community in STEM gender equity, and advocating for policy change. Our mission is to develop an equitable STEM pipeline, from university to industry and academia, inclusive of all students regardless of gender.

ANU Formula Sport team
The Formula Sport is an interdisciplinary team of The Australian National University (ANU) students driven by the goal of building and racing a Formula SAE car in 2023. The team members hail from all academic backgrounds, to design, build, and race a Formula SAE car.
ANU Mathematics Society
The ANU Mathematics Society is an association for maths students, and anyone with an interest in mathematics. They organise social activities, seminars and other activities for students to get together and discuss mathematics in a relaxed atmosphere.
Robogals Canberra

Robogals is a student run organisation that aims to inspire and empower young women to consider studying engineering and related fields.
Science Communication Society
The ANU Science Communication Society is a student society dedicated to bringing together people from all across the university, from all the various disciplines of science and from the non-science fields to discuss and communicate the intersection of science with the rest of the world. They host academic events across the year including lectures, presentations, science shows and even a careers night - also social events like pizza-movie nights, BBQs and a big end-of-year party.
ANU Solar Car Racing team
Powered by the sun, driven by innovation
The Australian National University (ANU) Solar Racing team are a group of passionate students dedicated to promoting sustainable innovation and renewables in our community and beyond.
Each year, they compete in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC), where teams from around the world operate vehicles powered entirely by the sun along a 3,000km outback track from Darwin to Adelaide.
Their latest 3rd generation solar car features a lightweight carbon-fibre, trimaran-style chassis and is powered by a 98% efficient motor that weighs only six kilograms.
ANU Rocketry
Producing tomorrow’s space industry experts
ANU Rocketry is on a mission to become the first undergraduate student team to reach space with a bi-propellant liquid rocket engine. Along this journey, the team is committed to our core pillars: diversity and inclusivity, safety, and innovation.
ANU Rocketry offers students from all backgrounds the hands-on, practical experience of project delivery and team work. We envision an experienced team of graduates who are poised to deliver meaningful projects in the engineering sector and beyond.
