Congratulations and well done to the latest group of The Australian National University (ANU) College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics prize winners! 

Here is a summary of some of the amazing achievements recognised in our 2024 student cohort. 

University Medal

The University Medal recognises students who have obtained First Class Honours (or Masters Advanced Equivalent) and demonstrated exceptional academic excellence across their studies.

Love Prize

The Love Prize recognises students who have an outstanding academic record and have demonstrated influence and leadership through contributions which have positively impacted the Canberra, regional, national or international communities. 

2024 winner:

• Charlotte Fell  Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor Asian Studies (with year in Asia). Charli is the first CECC student to be recognised with the Love Prize at ANU. 

McCusker Prize in Humanitarian Engineering

The McCusker Prize in Humanitarian Engineering is awarded to acknowledge and celebrate the impact that students of humanitarian engineering have already made, and incentivise Prize recipients to extend or implement their work or impact in the field. Funding for this prize has been provided by the McCusker Charitable Foundation. 

• Individual: Iron Removal from Water Supplies in Rural Timor-Leste\ Laura Liersch

Erin Brent Computer Science Prize

The Erin Brent Computer Science Prize is awarded to a student who achieved the best Honours result in the College.

Google Prize for Computer Science

The Google Prize for Computer Science (Honours) is awarded to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Research and Development) who achieved the highest mark in the third year of their program.

PBSA Partnership Spotless Excellence in Engineering Prize

The PBSA Partnership Spotless Excellence in Engineering Prize is awarded to support scholars studying Engineering in the College. Funding for this prize has been provided by Spotless Facility Services Pty Ltd.

The Smarterknowledge Prize for Data Wrangling is awarded to acknowledge outstanding performance in Data Wrangling COMP343.

Waste Check Capstone Prize

The Waste Check Capstone Prizes encourage and reward the top 3 ANU/CECC Capstone Design Project Teams.

Bridge-Ada Lovelace Prize

The Bridge-Ada Lovelace Prize is awarded to acknowledge a high-achieving woman student who has demonstrated a high level of academic excellence in COMP4550 Advanced Computing Research Methods and COMP2120 Software Engineering.
