Vale Professor Rodney Baxter
It is with deep sadness that we pass on the news that Emeritus Professor Rodney James Baxter, FAA FRS passed away. Rodney was a giant in the field of mathematical physics. His groundbreaking contributions to the study of exactly solved models in statistical mechanics include the invention of commuting transfer matrices and other ingenious mathematical techniques.
